I do not choose to be a common man.
It is my right to be uncommon, if I can.
Hey there, I’m
Tommy Bussey. An entrepreneur, savvy search marker, recording musician, fitness enthusiast, car hobbyist and tattoo collector. I value my relationship with God and my family, they come first in my life. Some of the quotes on my website are excerpts from a poem written by Dean Alfange,
My Creed. I first read this poem at the Flying W Ranch in Colorado Springs, CO, back in August 2009. I was with my family visiting my younger brother at the Air Force Academy, and we had decided to do something different for dinner. So, we went to this Flying W Ranch for a chuck-wagon meal. I must admit, I wasn’t too excited about it. However, once again I found evidence that we are all on a path and it’s worth it to take time to observe the details.
As we sat down on long wooden benches for dinner atop a long wooden table, I stared somewhat blankly at the meal in front of me served on tin plates. Nonetheless, I don’t turn down a meal, so I began to eat. In all fairness, I ended up enjoying the food and the ranch. But more importantly, as I was eating my cowboy cuisine, I began to examine the ticket stub I used for ranch admission. I flipped it over and found My Creed on the back. I still have that stub in my desk drawer. That moment back in August 2009 when I first read this poem, I knew I was taking my life in the right direction. The words of My Creed touched me in a very real way on a professional and personal level, as it accurately explains my approach to life and business.
